Exercise Means Less Stress!

This study analyzed data on 19,842 people 16 and older (average age, 45). Standardized testing re-vealed 3,200 of them had high levels of psychological distress, such as anxiety or stress.

Overall, those who reported daily exercise of any sort (walking, sports participation) were 41 percent less likely to be highly stressed or anxious than were those who did the least exercise. The more frequent and intense the exercise, the lower the stress level.

Even people whose physical activity consisted solely of housework or gardening for 20 minutes one to three times a week reduced their likelihood of being stressed or anxious by 24 percent.
