1. Drink Water. It washes out the by products from dieting, cleanses you and helps you feel full.

2. Don't skip meals. It will make you even hungrier later on.

3. Stay away from the fad diets. There are probably a million reasons for this. The most important being that they can be unsafe.

4. Consult your physician prior to starting a diet.

5. Become active.

6.Don't call it diet. Call it a time of refocus.

7. Think of it as a time for refocusing on learning new eating habits.

9.Don't tell everyone around you that you are on a diet. They will figure it out when you start looking like it's working.

10. Be aware of those who may want to bring you down by attempting to ruin your diet or tempt you. They are the ones with the problem.

13. Nurture yourself instead of eating it out.

15. Read labels- especially for items like sodium.

18. Be aware of hidden calories. Salad dressing, condiments, soda, etc.

19. Do not weigh yourself every day. You may even want to consider throwing the scale away.
